Trish Kilby Fore grew up surrounded by music in her hometown of Lansing in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Her new CD Clawhammer Banjo: Blue Ridge Style features her very rhythmic, “up the mountain” style of banjo playing that is typical of the Ashe, Grayson, and Carroll County area. This CD offers a whole lot of old-time musical variety with Trish’s driving clawhammer style acting as a constant thread that stitches it all together. It features a wide range of great fiddlers: Andy Edmonds, Kirk Sutphin, Lucas Pasley and Tim Donley. The instrumentation is equally varied, too, ranging from solo banjo and fiddle-banjo duets to a full band line-up.
