This cassette presents the tales and music that Daniel Womack learned and performed while growing up in southern Virginia during the early 1900s. Speaking in the many voices of his characters such as animals, slaves, and enslavers, Mr. Womack demonstrates the longstanding African-American tradition of tale telling.
